Spazio Attivo Roma Tecnopolo – Lazio Innova S.p.A.
The Spazio Attivo Roma Tecnopolo of Lazio Innova is the regional incubator for the creation and development of new high-tech companies. Located in the area of Tecnopolo Tiburtino in Rome, it was founded at the end of 2006 by the collaboration with the Tecnopolo S.p.A. Company.
The Incubator of the Lazio Region has been designed to facilitate the birth and development of startups and research spin-offs and represents a territorial benchmark for the development of entrepreneurial initiatives concerning applications in the Space Economy sectors. The incubator supports the activities aimed at the creation of new technologies and facilitates relations and actions between those active in the local entrepreneurial and scientific system, thanks to a system of knowledge and relationships consolidated over the years. It has 3,500 square metres and included within it are:

The ESA Business Incubation Centre Lazio programme.
ESA BIC Lazio is one of the first ESA BIC incubators to be launched in Europe, the first on the national territory, funded by the Lazio Region, the Italian Space Agency and the European Space Agency. The objective is to support startups in the new space economy through the establishment of companies that intend to apply knowledge and technologies of space derivation in other sectors of activity or apply innovative technologies developed for the terrestrial sector in the space sector.
The selected startups carry out an incubation process for the development of the business idea at the Spazio Attivo Roma Tecnopolo for a maximum period of 24 months, having access to:
- financing of 50,000 EURO for prototyping, product/service development and intellectual property activities
- personalised support from Lazio Innova tutors and mentors
- technical support from ASI and ESA experts
- access to a European network of startups and partners
- support in the search for further funding and access to investors
- credibility of the ESA SPACE SOLUTIONS brand
