The Italian Institute of Welding was founded in 1948, focusing on welding and joining technologies, with the mission of disseminating and transferring technical knowledge to support innovation, competitiveness, and industrial safety, promoting sustainable technological development.
Today, the IIS group, which includes the subsidiaries IIS CERT and IIS SERVICE, supports industry (Oil & Gas, Energy, Transport, Infrastructure, Aeronautics, Space and Defence) through an integrated eco-system of specialist expertise with research and development, testing, training, diagnostics, technical assistance and engineering support activities, taking on the responsibility of verifying and certifying compliance with process quality requirements, products and systems as well as personnel skills.
